Serpent 811 vs Losi 8IGHT

If money is not an issue, I am sure most of you would agree to go with Serpent. But let's put the cost issue aside first. Quality wise, Serpent 811 hands down is better than Losi 8IGHT. The Serpent cars are quite durable and very wear resistant compared to the Losi due to most the parts being made from spring steel. But Serpent does not provide the best support, parts wise as well as setups and tips. The good thing is that this car does have a similar chassis/suspension layout as the Losi, making it easy to drive. However, I believe most Serpent 811 owners know that this buggy pretty setup sensitive, adjustments needs to be made in order to run properly on different tracks.

Losi is a pretty solid buggy out of the box, compared to Serpent, Losi hardly needs any setup and can pretty much works anywhere. The bad thing about Losi is that parts such as rod ends, caster blocks, arms, center front outdrive and pin for this buggy wears quite quickly. It gets sloppy way faster than the Serpent 811. Overall, Losi is still a great drive, however, if you're worry about short term wear and maintenance, better stick with Serpent.

There really is no magical answer on which one is better because it really depends on what you're looking for in the car. One would decide to choose Serpent for it's durability, another one would choose Losi because of parts and less setup sensitive.
