MST Releases 1/10 CFX and 1/ 8 CFX-W RC Crawlers

The new CFX platform will come in 1/8 scale and 1/10 scale.

The 1/10 version features

  • Wheelbase: 242 / 252 / 267mm (adjustable) and additional parts required to 267mm setting
  • Width 195mm
  • Gear ratio = 1:31.7 ~ 1:46.7
  • Tire Width / Diameter 30 x 90mm
  • Shaft-Driven 4WD
  • Front and Rear Solid-Axle

The 1/8 CFX-W version features a new portal axle design called the "MPA-Axle". The features include:

  • Wheelbase: 300mm
  • Width: 230mm
  • Gear Ratio = 1:36.3 ~ 1:53.4
  • Tire Width / Diameter: 40 x 120mm
  • Shaft-Driven 4WD
  • Front and Rear MPA-Axle
  • Adjustable sliders
  • New 1.9 Tires

 The MPA-Axle features

  • Hex To Hex Width: 194mm
  • Kingpin Angle: 15 degrees
  • Caster: 0 to 20 degrees
  • Camber: 3 degrees
  • Steer Angle: 40 degrees

This portal axle has some advantages: increased clearance, and reduce torque with the same power.

The new MPA-Axle looks quite similar to the G-Made R1 Axles. The adjustable wheelbase is a nice touch. Tires on the 1/10 CFX are similar to the CMX chassis which aren't the softest tires in the market, but have good traction. New tires for the 1/8 CFX-W seem more performance based.

Front motor with transfer case, axle mounted servo, adjustable chassis, all around aluminum links. These are similar features to the SCX10 and SCX10 II. The front motor is scale, but sits quite high. The battery will need to be relocated to the front for any serious crawling.

Overall it looks like MST is becoming a contender and getting serious in the scale crawling scene with the release of these two new crawlers.

What body would you fit onto the new CFX and CFX-W?
