PRODUCT INFORMATION:
  • The iconic Porsche 911 RSR 2.8 makes its way to the highly versatile BT-01 chassis! To faithfully recreate the motor and drive train layout as much as possible of the full-size car, this kit instructs the builder to assemble the chassis in the short wheelbase, midship rear motor / rear-wheel drive (MR) setup. This layout configuration provides rear-wheel drive handling excitement at every turn and exciting throttle response.

About the Porsche 911 RSR 2.8:

The Porsche Carrera RS 2.7 is a legend of the Porsche 911 series. Developed to join European GT races in 1973, it employed a 2,687cc horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine capable of 210hp, a lightweight body with improved aerodynamics, and wide rear tires. The Carrera RSR 2.8 racing version increased displacement to 2,808cc and output to over 300hp; in 1973, it was a European GT race champion and took numerous global victories.

    About the BT-01 Chassis:

The 2WD BT-01 chassis gives the choice of two types of wheelbases, and a front-or rear-wheel drive system. Without removing the battery pack, motor, and R/C equipment setups from the center frame, simply change the attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front-and rear-wheel drive; front (FR) or midship rear (MR) motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features a symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Unitized sections such as the motor mount, final gears, and suspension facilitate ese of assembly and effective maintenance.

    • 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 457mm, width: 204mm, height: 138mm. Wheelbase: 251mm. (Short)
    • The form of the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 is realistically recreated in lightweight polycarbonate.
    • Silver color wheels (front: narrow, rear: wide / rims, and red wheel caps are separate) are paired with racing slick tires (front: Item 50454, rear: Item 50547).
    • Separate molded plastic part recreates the side mirror.
    • Includes 540 brushed motor and ESC.
    • Required to complete: 2-channel radio, steering servo, 7.2-7.4volt battery with compatible charger, and Tamiya PS paint.

First In Quality Around the World
First In Quality Around the World
Since its start with educational wooden models in 1948, Tamiya has unswervingly striven to be "First in Quality Around the World". This refers not only to quality with respect to products, but also to its dedication to the hobby industry as a whole. From the planning, design, mold construction, molding, and packaging to the various forms of graphic design found on the packaging, assembly manuals, etc., Tamiya's in-house manufacturing process allows for attention to detail indispensable for the pursuit of hobby excellence.

The phrase "Tamiya Standard" has come to be used among modeling enthusiasts the world over to describe the high level of quality unique to Tamiya. In fact, Tamiya's scale models possess such intricate detail that they are often described by modelling connoisseurs as "museum items". This stalwart commitment to total quality has launched Tamiya to the forefront of the world's hobby industry, and continues to promise an exciting future.

It all started in 1946, when Mr. Yoshio Tamiya, the founder, opened a saw mill and lumber business in Shizuoka. Tamiya ventured into modeling in 1948, with a scale wooden ship model kit. Since then, Tamiya has continued to grow, producing models known as "First in Quality Around the World".

In 1976, Tamiya entered the RC market with their first RC model, the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR. Now, having just passed the 30th Anniversary of the first Tamiya RC model, they are sold in markets both within the country and worldwide.

Tamiya America, Inc. sponsors the annual Tamiya/Con model contest and the Tamiya Championship Series races (TCS). TCS races are held monthly at venues around the country and culminate in the National Championship Event which is held once a year at the Tamiya America raceway that resides immediately adjacent to the distribution and administrative center. all the Tamiya products are available here at the largest online RC store.
